What Are The Different Types Of Endoscope
Olympus Endoscope is named because of the lens used in it. Generally speaking, endoscopes are named for the body parts they examine.
- Encephaloscope – used for examining cavities in the brain
- Laryngoscope – used to examine the larynx, the multi-functional organ in the neck containing the vocal cords
- Esophagoscope – used to examine the inside of the esophagus
- Thoracoscope – used for examining the pleural cavity through an intercostal space
- Angioscope – used to observe blood vessels
- Nephroscope – used in the examination of the kidneys
- Colonoscope – used to examine the lower part of the bowel
- Proctoscope – used for inspecting the rectum
- Arthroscope – used for examining the interior of a joint
- Rhinoscope – used in nasal examinations
- Bronchoscope – used for examining the interior of the bronchi
