Pentax Endoscope requires excellent care and maintenance including its storage. They should be clean and dry before you store them away. All fiber optic scopes require a vent cap to be installed prior to storage to allow the inside hollow chambers of the scope to aerate properly, depending on manufacturer, some videoscopes may have venting caps as well. Similarly, video scopes should be stored without protective fluid-resistant caps. Storage without these caps allows the inside chambers of the scopes to aerate properly. Follow model specific manufacturer instructions regarding vent cap utilization. Some endoscope manufacturers may recommend silicone or water based lubricants when necessary, check with their instructions for use prior to any application.
