Different Types Of Endoscopes

There are many kinds lf endoscopes used in the world of Endoscopy and every kind of endoscope has a name according to which part of the body it is used. The following are some of the most common kinds of endoscopes used in the medical field:

• Colonoscope: used in the procedure called Colonoscopy which aims to visualize the colon. The colonoscope is usually inserted through the anus.
• Arthroscope: used in the procedure called Arthroscopy which aims to examine the joints. The tube is inserted through a small cut made in the area where a joint must be assessed
• Bronchoscope: used in Bronchoscopy which aims to have a clearer view of the lungs. This tube is commonly inserted through the mouth.
• Laryngoscope: used in Laryngoscopy which aims to examine the larynx or also known as the voice box. The tube is usually inserted through the mouth.
